SKIP TRACING

T he ability to locate an individual depends on several factors. These include: type of skip (debtor vs. friend), length of time elapsed, and available resources. With the advent of the Internet, there are an abundance of resources accessible for skip tracing.

Many of our  clients  ask, "What  exactly  do you do to collect our  money?" or "What does the collection process entail?"

We begin by mailing your debtor our "First Notice" the same day the placement is received. This letter notifies the consumer of the debt and explains what their rights are if they dispute the debt. Seven days later our telephone collectors will contact them by phone. The consumer is informed that this collection account will be sent to the Credit Bureaus and they are made aware of how it will adversely affect their credit scores. Our collectors use a positive approach by explaining to the debtors how important their credit is and how we can help them improve their credit worthiness by working with us on their collection account.

Our course of action is to motivate the debtor to pay. This is accomplished through a series of proven collection letters and telephone conversations. Each debtor is different and what motivates one debtor may not motivate another. For some, it is their credit score, for others it is a sense of responsibility. Our collectors are highly skilled in discovering the underlying motivational factor.

Many times a debtor is willing to pay the charges if they could only be located. Our skip tracing department has the techniques and resources to locate even the hardest to find debtors.

HOT CHECKS

The Texas Hot Check fee is $30.
(This varies by state) When we collect your bad checks for you, we add that fee to the face amount of the check. We then charge a 35% collection fee on only the checks collected.

Our SKIP TRACING DEPARTMENT uses a variety of collection and locating products offered by Experian and Trans Union, such as Social Security Search and Address Verification. Another excellent avenue of locating home owners is through most County Appraisal District's internet web sites which are available to the public. Click here for an example.

For a nominal annual fee you can discover a vast amount of information about someone at: publicdata.com  including driver's license  information, criminal records  and  civil court filings.

A great free "People Search" web site is searchbug.com. where you can find people by name, address or telephone number.

The majority of our check clients who accept small checks, (e.g. fast food restaurants, convenience stores, and retail stores) recieve back more than the amount of the original check.

For example, a typical collection for a $20 check, our client would receive $32.50 which is an additional $12.50 over the face amount of the check. $20 + $30 (hot check fee)=$50 collected x 65% (our client's portion) which gives our client back $32.50 for his original $20 check.
